The Secret of Great Comedy is Timing

So, just a few days after HMRC announced that it would be billing millions of taxpayers for an extra £1,400 or so in the run-up to Christmas, this is the latest idea. Get employers to hand over all your salary to HMRC, who will then deduct the right amount of tax and pass on the remainder on to you.

What could possibly go wrong?

All I know of this bank is that I frequently get phishing spam that claims to be from it.

My jaw dropped on Saturday when I heard this on Moneybox. Employers like it - presumably because they can sack the payroll department. And it's not as if any of the big IT projects have been stuff ups - London ambulance, NHS etc etc...
