You know you've spent too much time hanging around fandom when...

... you're reading Paradise Lost and find yourself wondering whether anybody's written Satan/God slash.

I'm way behind on LJ posts. Not only is there my birthday trip to York with [livejournal.com profile] lady_schrapnell to talk about, but also my trip to Roedean to not win the Southern Schools Book Award the weekend before! I'm still catching up on work things, though.

Oh, they have. Satan/God, I mean. I've seen it, though I don't offhand recall where. To be honest, I think it's probably canonical....

I was thinking the same thing. Satan's self-torment - "I could go and humble myself to him, but then would I be tempted to rebel again and maybe get a worse punishment? Perhaps he knows that I would, so that refusing to offer me forgiveness is actually his way of being kind..." - just seems... well, slashy.

Definitely canon:

he created what I was
In that bright eminence, and with his good
Upbraided none; nor was his service hard.

(The book IV soliloquy is very Angsty, isn't it?)
