Personally, I can never read the beginning of Spenser's
Faerie Queene
without singing
A gentle Knight was pricking on the plaine
to the tune of "The Rain In Spain" from
My Fair Lady
.
(Now once again, where did he prick? On the plaine, on the plaine! And where's that blasted plaine?)
