All of this and then this too... I feel that labeling someone as trans is only appropriate when the agenda is the immediate topic of discussion. Otherwise you're just a woman. And if it is the immediate topic of discussion, I don't see anything clunky or awkward about "not trans," as in "As a woman who is not trans, how do you feel about..."
Also I do think it's special jargon defining a community because I doubt most folks know what the term means. And that makes it exclusionary. And, of course, any community is allowed to place labels on a societal group... if that's the sort of community you want.
