Yes, totally. My preferred label overall for both of us is 'female', but, as I explain elsewhere 'cis' has been used in more than one way. Mind you, my feminism has also been used to silence me, as apparently all Australian feminists are one particular infamous one. So I have no objections to 'cis' if it's not used with baggage. Until this set of comments on this post, though, I thought it was OK, despite my personal experience (see my comment on whether it has idiolect status, elsewhere) - now I discover that I'm not alone. This means I need to find out more before saying "This will work."

Even if it has baggage, it doesn't have the literal stone-throwing and firebomb hurling baggage of being Jewish, for instance, but any word with baggage needs just that much more care in its use.
