Oh, so am I! The Vicar talks about them bringing in surveying equipment, in any case, so there was obviously cooperation but I don't think you could get that level of detail by covert means, even if you were a lot shadier than these guys clearly are. But you'd be offered a location fee if a TV company wanted to use your church for filming, so presumably there's some kind of precedent.
