I'm not surprised that Blyton didn't travel - and if ever had a chance of doing so, I think it must have definitively passed by now!

I've had similar being-squashed experiences, and the only way around it that I've found is to think of answers to all the likely questions (which are relatively predictable in a context such as this) in advance. Of course, this does mean that a lot of material never gets used...
