"Tomorrow Will be Beyond Imagining"

I walked across the Suspension Bridge today, having visited [livejournal.com profile] gair and [livejournal.com profile] gerald briefly. The Avon was a strong brown god, in tulle flounces of crystallized mud. The world teetered on its year's-end, but the bridge (I'm glad to say) held steady.

I see that the number for the Samaritans (printed boldly on both of Brunel's Egyptianesque piers) is 0845, not 0800 - a shame for the destitute despairing. Perhaps they let you reverse the charges?

'Solstice Eve'

Winter's pinched out the sun.

Earth, spluttering in its candlesmoke,
Rolls in her sleep
And dreams afresh.

I'm sure a lot of Blake's Seven fans would agree with the first half of the sentence, and be highly intrigued by the second half.

You have to bring everything down to your level, don't you [livejournal.com profile] kalypso_v? ;)

As one distinguished B7 fan has said, "We are in the stars, but some of us are looking at the gutter."

Well, since this post was about a guttering star, I can't complain.
