Green Room Fantasies

Just in case you were wondering how I got on with Garth Nix the other day, you can read all about my Cheltenham escapades in today's An Awfully Big Blog Adventure.

Wonderful reading both and I also like your Hansel and Gretel metaphor; it's like the motorcycle gang (I met some in Real Life, saynomore, nudgenudge) statement that is indeed a motto: "noone rides for free" and who wants to keep cleaning Harleys and Indians for the rest of Liff?

I may have to post the C.S.Lewis essay link at The Club ([livejournal.com profile] theboringclub; n'est-ce pas) be it only because of his lines on Our (boring) subject and hope you won't mind my stealing inspiration from hereabouts too much (with credits to one of Our longtime Insider Members, off course though I don't see as many fights outside our Peeping Tom eyehole in the door as I would wish, I even suspect Us of Insignificance many a Boring Day); be it only to once more quote one of my fav. explanations of how tyranny works (the smiling invitation) from one who was denied membership of such an inner circle (Kundera) this, although it's so done *sigh* & still has to be repeated, I feel.

Glad you liked the post - and feel free to link wherever you wish. The Lewis essay is one of his best, I think.

I'd pay just to listen in to that hot tub conversation.
