More on Amazon

Amid the various Amazonfail theories/explanations flying about the web today, few are entirely consistent with all the known facts. However, despite the claims of fame-hungry trolls, such evidence as I've seen suggests that the cock-up (if that's the phrase) came from inside Amazon rather than through any manipulation of the tags (or whatever) submitted by customers. This is the most compelling explanation I've seen so far, and it does suggest that someone in Amazon decided that anything marked by publishers as having Gay or Lesbian interest ought to be put on the top shelf of the cupboard in the back room of the store, with a sign reading "Beware of the Leopard."

Douglas Adams reference! (Do I get a prize?)

Perhaps "Beware of the Leotard" might have been more appropriate...

Perhaps the phrase you want is "flamingoed-up." As Holly says on Red Dwarf, "It's like a cock-up, only much, much bigger."
