Kitchen Dreams

One or two people asked to see the finished result of my kitchen refit, so in that spirit (since the skip has now gone, and only a new fridge remains on the to-do list), here are a couple of pictures. I'm still sorting out what goes where, but that's a nice problem to have.

It's still not a super-fancy kitchen, as you can see, but at least it is now bigger than the outside of a TARDIS. The serving hatch is so that I can chat to my imaginary guests while I'm cooking.

I love the tile and the wine racks. Curious (since the custom in the US is to have the clothes washing machine elsewhere in the house) is that a washer/dryer or just a washer?

Very nice!! I remember how much fun it was doing my kitchen in Old House. I'm fortunate that the kitchen in my New House is awesome, but some of the appliances could do with changing - I covet a gas stove and a better fridge. And I love having a serving hatch, even for imaginary guests :)

it's lovely!

while looking at the second pic i was getting ready to ask about the white cabinet -- i couldn't quite parse it because it looked like a cabinet but it also looked inset -- but is that the serving hatch? it opens and you can pass plates through to the other room?

My sister's house has a little window through the wall between the kitchen sink and the eating area, and it's set up in such a way that I always process it as a mirror. When I see someone looking through it, the first thing I think is always "But I don't look like that!"

Belatedly catching up - that looks very nice! Still have no idea what I might do with mine, but it's reassuring to see other people transforming kitchens for the better! Hm, I wonder what tiles I might go for to replace the current pinky- brown.
