C S Lewis ended in 1963, Which was just too soon for me.

Dipping into my recently-acquired (I can’t remember how!) copy of C.S. Lewis’s Studies in Medieval and Renaissance Literature, I find that all my CSL love returns. I don’t think anyone came close to him in terms of making the intellectual life seem exciting when I was a teenager, and the same flutter of excitement is there now I have a new book of his in my hands.
