I know my flist intersects to a large extent with lady_schrapnell's, but not entirely - and even if you followed her pointing finger in the direction of beccadelarosa's LJ yesterday you may not have gone the extra mile to beccadelarosa's website, and the online stories there. If you appreciate Darke Phantasy (no, that's too goth, let's say New Weird? Magical Surrealism? Oh gosh, I'm not sure what to call it - decide for yourself!) then you really ought to dip into her growing oeuvre...

Let them eat cake

Well, I never knew that until a minute ago - and if it's wrong, please don't tell me! But apparently the Anglo-Saxons call February Sol-monath, i.e. "cake month", because in that month cakes were offered to the gods. This puts the Germanicness of the A-Ss in quite a new light for me, and makes them seem somehow, I don't know, more Bavarian.

I wonder what's on the menu for March? How I'd like to think that Woden shared my fondness for profiteroles...
