You know, that's a very pleasing thought! And quite possible. My only slight doubt is that several of the crew seem to have been Irish (the Captain and Brophy, for a start), and a nickname like that tends to imply singularity. But of course, he could have acquired it elsewhere. And I always like the idea of people being saved, so let's go with it!
