Tangentially, one of my favourite Japanese words is 忘れ物 (wasuremono), which means, literally, "forgotten thing". The announcer on the train will ask to you check for wasuremono before you disembark. My camera in a previous entry was a wasuremono; and so of course was this umbrella. Once you start, you wonder how you ever did without the word.
