Perhaps so! I never experienced the travel jinx myself, but we didn't travel much together. The one exception was when she gave me a lift back to Bristol from London, in a car (plus driver) HarperCollins had ordered, from an event to celebrate her 70th birthday. It went smoothly, but on the way from Bristol that morning they'd managed to hit a deer, so I suppose she'd got the jinx out of the way.
