It was nice to see you on the tube, and it seems to me that you and Portillo had a nice civilised conversation about responses to literature. I can't address Enid Blyton particularly - I've never read any, and she's virtually unknown in the US - but your general principles about an author without literary pretensions who nevertheless speaks to readers' hearts seem entirely valid.
On topics a bit more up my stream - I could imagine having exactly this conversation about Tolkien! - I would be willing to undertake a polite interview like this. What I'd be bad at is anything contentious, because I'm not a fast spontaneous thinker, and I've had the experience of being unjustly squashed because I couldn't think of the correct reply until later.
