An even worse little worm we have here in this country named Brian Fischer spelled it out. God could have stopped this, but he didn't because there is no prayer in schools.

I think you may have succeeded in lowering the bar even further.

A perspective long ago pungently parodied by Christopher Durang in Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You.

Actually, come to think of it, it was parodied by William Shakespeare in Twelfth Night long before that.

On the other hand, it was taken seriously enough by Ben Jonson (in a poem I had to give up teaching because I couldn't read it without bursting into tears):

On My First Son

Farewell, thou child of my right hand, and joy ;
My sin was too much hope of thee, lov'd boy.
Seven years thou wert lent to me, and I thee pay,
Exacted by thy fate, on the just day.
Oh, could I lose all father now ! For why
Will man lament the state he should envy?
To have so soon 'scaped world's and flesh's rage,
And if no other misery, yet age !
Rest in soft peace, and, asked, say, Here doth lie
Ben Jonson his best piece of poetry.
For whose sake henceforth all his vows be such
As what he loves may never like too much.

Why will man lament the state he should envy? From Ben Jonson, trying to assuage his grief, it's a moving and natural question. From a random sanctimonious stranger on the internet, it stinks.

Nothing to do with ludicrous gun ownership laws at all then?

Sigh :o(

Oh, and France has pretty widespread gun ownership too! It's considered one of the Bonnes de la Revolution........

Anything that ends in the Terror and years of imperialist military dictatorship can't be bad...
