Our f-lists overlap to a large extent but by no means entirely, so to those of you have already seen this appeal on [livejournal.com profile] lady_schrapnell's LJ my apologies for cross-posting; but for the rest of you, if you have a moment please look at her latest post for our latest (and last?) appeal for Arthurian information. Or, in this case, non-Arthurian information.

I feel as if I should be able to think of some, and have this niggling in the back of my head that there is something, but I cannot think of it. I am curious what is the book?

If it comes to you, just say!

It's a book about the way the past is represented in children's literature (not just historical novels but fantasy, time-travel, alternative history, non-fiction, etc). We're doing it roughly chronologically, starting with the Claudian invasion, but using each chronological period to consider a different issue. With Arthur, the question is of course, how to you write about someone who may or may not be historical? (And yes, Silver on the Tree gets a small mention!)

I will! I shall ask around a bit as well. :)

That sounds fascinating! I often wish I did YA Lit, since I do love it so much!

3) late 5th to 6th century
4) no mention of Arthur, Arturos, Idris, Pendragon, etc.

Off the top of my head, in fact, I can't think of anything. I'll see what I can come up with.
