Put three academics into a room and tell them to think about efficiency savings, and one of them will probably try to devise ways in which to do things more efficiently; a second will muse in a melancholy way about the Second Law of Thermodynamics and the ultimate futility of human endeavour; while a third will doodle this...

Efficiency Savings

And yes, all three are yours truly.

Something about the components of that sentence has gotten this stuck in my head, thank you.

I'm not sure what tone that 'thank you' was written in! But it's a great song.

Whatever you do, don't show your doodle to a pshrink. It'll only give them funny ideas! :o)

Reminds me of a story heard from a friend (and therefore quite likely garbled): friend's friend jokingly said to his French roommate, who had asked him to do something, "Yes, sahib, my feet are like wings," and got something thrown at him by French roommate, who afterwards insisted that "Yes, sahib, my feet are like wings" sounds like something Very Insulting in French. (Insulting in some other way than being dubious ethnic humor, I mean.)

Napoleon met Nelson and said to him (en français, bien sur, naturellement):

'and the water, its time'.................:o)

Okay, my French being minimal, I had to consult an Actual Dictionary (I got "et l'eau" easily, but "c'est temps" didn't seem to make sense).

No clue about the "yes, Sahib," etc. I'm afraid. I would also like to know where the expression "my feet are like wings" is from. You would think some well known book or film, but if so I can't find it (have found a few people saying it as if it's a well known expression, though).
