I can't remember quite how it arose, but it is traditional in our house to cry, "Stunt mouse!" whenever a mouse is seen scurrying around the skirting board in a drama. Other creatures can be substituted as appropriate, eg "Stunt pigeon!", "Stunt rat!" etc.

I'm firmly convinced the reason Bristol's urban foxes are so bold is because they're checking out every human they see to find out if said human might be from the Natural History unit scouting for talent.

And in other news, our cat clearly hasn't got her head around the concept of "The vet put you on a strict diet, so if you're going to supplement that diet with the occasional mouse, kindly eat it outside where Wellinghall & I never know about it". The mouse was still alive, and between us we managed to rescue it. Diet adhered to - this time.
