Anyone else (apart from me and [livejournal.com profile] lady_schrapnell) remember this? Where else would you find David Puttnam, Alan Parker, the Bee Gees, and the two child leads from Oliver!, all together?

It was called S.W.A.L.K. when I first saw it, not Melody - I'm not sure how come the name change. But if you want your heart warmed over nicely on a cold wet summer's day I recommend it highly. It's my era, too...

OMG!!! I LOVED that movie when I was... fifteen? sixteen? Can't remember exactly when it came out. Oh, and don't forget The Animals Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, "Teach Your Children" played over the end credits! I was too young and ignorant when I saw it to pay attention to who the makers were - David Puttnam and Alan Parker help explain why it was so good.
