My real fear for the future is that people will look back at us in the late twentieth / early twenty-first century and think that we were leading a life of unparalleled luxury and security, but didn't appreciate the fact or do enough to ensure that these conditions would continue.
I ticked the 'labouring in general ignorance' option in this spirit - I don't think there'll ever be 'One Truth', but I do think we are collectively swimming in a morass of short-sighted illusions.
Of course, what I want future generations to think is that we strove nobly to advance their rights and freedoms. But our efforts on that front seem to me half-hearted at best.
