More Ancestral Cigarette Cards
Nov. 8th, 2011 05:11 pmThanks to my (third) cousin Tim, I now have a full set of grandparents for my own great-grandfather, young Thomas Robinson Butler, whose writings have supplied so many of these pages in one way or another. John Exton North (1782-1840) was the missing ancestor, and he died before TRB was even born, but he makes up for his late arrival by appearing in full colour.

The only trouble with this kind of picture is that everyone is shown at a different age. One of TRB's grandmothers is aged 18 in 1797, the other in her seventies over sixty years later. But perhaps that makes it more interesting?
